Just dumping the problems to address, after my discussion with the teacher.
- Quickly unload the bike -- people have a perception of being in a hurry
- Must not make the user lean forward too much to unload the bike
- Accommodate for bags around the rear wheel
- Explore the possibility of the rack sliding partially towards the platform
Also, the points that were given to me on Monday:
- A simple bump may not be enough to restrain the bike; explore more secure restraints
- Material and process for the wheel rail: possibly twin sheet forming or extruded aluminum
- Material and process for the top rails: check bend radii
- How it all comes together as a whole
Ouch. Quite some work ahead of me.
